JOB SUMMARY:
Support the Outlet Supervisor in daily operations and take charge of store activities in their absence. Perform the responsibilities of an Outlet Sales Associate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage essential Outlet functions when the Outlet Supervisor is unavailable, including daily financial transactions and ensuring that staff provide exceptional customer service in line with established protocols.

Guide team members on sales inquiries and escalate personnel issues to the Outlet Supervisor or their representative.
Organize merchandise effectively on the sales floor.
Ensure a tidy, safe, and welcoming shopping environment by adhering to proper housekeeping standards.

CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE:
Assist customers by:
a) Helping them locate products
b) Carrying their purchased items to their vehicles (excluding loading into vehicles)
c) Reporting any issues or complaints to the Outlet Supervisor.
Manage unsold merchandise by sorting it for recycling or disposal as necessary.

Execute opening and closing procedures as required.
Perform cashier duties when needed.
Welcome customers as they enter the outlet and express gratitude as they exit.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Carry out related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of six months in retail sales is required; experience in 'as-is' retail is preferred.
CERTIFICATION:
Forklift certification must be completed within 90 days of employment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Basic mathematical skills are essential.
Familiarity with electronic cash registers is beneficial (training will be provided). Knowledge of company policies and procedures can be acquired on the job.
Understanding of Goodwill Central Coast's mission and retail practices is advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The role is performed in a large warehouse setting, with exposure to varying temperatures and environmental conditions. The workspace may include dust and noise from equipment. Interaction with the public is frequent, and the position may involve managing tight deadlines or special events, potentially requiring overtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The job entails a steady pace of work, with significant standing and walking. The role demands moderate to heavy physical activity, including lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs. Larger items will require the use of appropriate handling equipment or assistance from colleagues.

All safety protocols must be followed diligently, and any hazards should be reported promptly.
