The Fleet Operations Program Management division at Zoox plays a pivotal role in executing cross-departmental programs and projects essential for the effective growth, expansion, and seamless functioning of Zoox's commercial services. We collaborate closely with various teams within Fleet Operations and engage with stakeholders from different departments to ensure the verification, validation, and launch of the latest software on our fleet, while progressively enhancing our operational processes and procedures to provide an exceptional customer experience. We are in search of an experienced program manager to spearhead strategic initiatives that are vital for scaling operations efficiently.

As the Staff/Senior Program Manager for Strategic Initiatives, your responsibilities will encompass the comprehensive management of diverse operational initiatives aimed at facilitating efficient operations at an increasing scale to achieve core business goals. This includes onboarding and integrating external vendors to augment our operational capabilities while refining our existing operational tools, processes, and procedures. You will collaborate closely with Operations, Product, Software, Hardware, and other teams to develop and implement a roadmap that promotes operational efficiency at scale and drives complex initiatives to successful completion. Additionally, you will be tasked with formulating and executing change management strategies to assist the Fleet Operations team in effectively transitioning to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in close partnership with Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to clarify technical requirements, identify constraints or process gaps that hinder efficient operations at scale, and implement improvements to our unit economics.
  • Oversee the procurement and integration or internal development of operational tools necessary for the successful and efficient operation of our commercial service, ensuring a high-quality consumer experience.
  • Lead, develop, and execute detailed plans for the onboarding and integration of third-party vendors across technical tooling and operational outsourcing.
  • Design and implement comprehensive change management strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
  • Proactively identify potential cross-functional risks associated with key initiatives, maintain a risk register, and develop risk mitigation strategies. Regularly monitor risks and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Mentor and/or supervise a team of 1-4 Program Managers in support of the Strategic Priorities of the overall Fleet Operations organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in onboarding and/or managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience with lengthy sales cycles involving outbound RFI/RFP requiring substantial financial analysis.
  • Proven ability to design and execute large-scale change management strategies, with a successful track record in managing complex, large-scale integration projects.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across multiple organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Program Management, etc.).
  • Experience in management consulting or strategic consulting.
  • Background in the autonomous vehicle, ride-hail, transportation, or other relevant mobility sectors.
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification is highly preferred.

Compensation for this position includes three main components: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this role is $149,000 to $216,000. A sign-on bonus may be included as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. The determination of leveling and positioning within a level is influenced by various factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
