Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts complex medical laboratory tests essential for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, ensuring accuracy and accountability for test results.
  • Performs independent specimen processing and testing, including moderate and high complexity analyses, while maintaining rigorous quality control standards.
  • Executes preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment, troubleshooting issues proactively and seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Implements quality control management practices, including running controls, evaluating data, and documenting results, while communicating relevant quality control information to supervisors.
  • Identifies and evaluates the need for new methodologies, instruments, and technologies, considering customer needs and cost-effectiveness, and reports findings to management.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and serves as a resource for internal and external customers.
  • Manages assigned projects by developing plans, coordinating resources, setting timelines, and keeping management informed of progress.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education and Experience: A. High school diploma (or equivalent) with 15 years of clinical laboratory experience OR B. Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. -OR- C. Bachelor's Degree is required, with clinical laboratory experience preferred. Minimum Licenses and Certifications Required: One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Certification may be waived for candidates with 5 years of laboratory experience.
