Position Summary

This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage with the ETF & Index Investments division at BlackRock Services. We are looking for a proactive individual to become part of the Quantitative Research team within Research, Data, and Analytics (RDnA). This team is dedicated to delivering actionable research insights, developing models, and creating systematic solutions centered around indexing.

The ideal candidate will leverage quantitative trading models and strategies to generate significant business impact while collaborating closely with Technology, Portfolio Management, and Trading teams to facilitate implementation and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Analyze indexing events and methodologies, providing data-driven insights and predictive analytics related to indexing. Conduct back-testing of trading and investment hypotheses through quantitative and event-driven processes.

+ Gather, maintain, and analyze economic and financial data to support global ETF and Index Research. Familiarity with indexing data is advantageous.

+ Conduct research on market structure, behavior, and portfolio implementation across equity and fixed income markets.

+ Build and nurture relationships with various teams that support the investment data and research process, collaborating on joint research initiatives.

Qualifications:

+ A formal background in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering) is essential, with experience applying these skills in a research context. A Master's or PhD degree is highly preferred.

+ Proficient understanding of computer technology in financial research, with demonstrated programming skills in statistical packages (e.g., Python, SQL) and familiarity with Linux.

+ Knowledge of financial markets, including return drivers, risk management, and portfolio construction techniques. Experience in signal processing is highly valued.

+ Familiarity with data available in the investment management sector and experience in managing and accessing such data to support research activities.

+ Ability to operate efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, overseeing research projects from data collection to hypothesis testing and model execution.
