Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the faculty member is to educate students effectively. This includes:
  • Demonstrating expertise in local and wide area networking, specifically with Microsoft Server 2008/2012 and Active Directory.
  • Implementing and managing DHCP, DNS, file, and application servers.
  • Establishing network policies and user profiles.
  • Utilizing basic network scripting techniques, including Powershell, batch files, and/or VB script.
  • Creating and deploying multi-platform workstations and standalone servers across various operating systems, including Windows, LINUX, and MAC.
  • Exhibiting a thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking and associated protocols.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network issues both remotely and on-site.
  • Proficiently using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Engaging with students to facilitate learning and employing effective teaching methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Possession or eligibility for a post-secondary vocational credential in Computer Information Systems issued by Aims Community College CTE Office, requiring a minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of approved experience in a related area.
  • Prior teaching experience in Computer Information Systems.
  • Capability to coordinate curriculum for Distance Learning formats, utilizing Desire to Learn Course Management software.
  • A commitment to the community college philosophy, ensuring every individual has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating cooperation and flexibility.
  • Willingness to pursue professional development in teaching methods, curriculum development, and computer applications as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with packet capturing tools such as Wireshark and Network Miner.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and administering perimeter security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience in information security with a focus on cyber security topics such as intrusion detection, malware analysis, and network defense.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
