Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Med Prep instructor to educate and motivate high school students in the realm of medical preparation. This role encompasses delivering dynamic lessons, facilitating interactive activities, and equipping students with the necessary skills for future careers in healthcare through both practical and academic support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality instruction and provide effective student advising.
  • Assist in refining and modernizing the curriculum to ensure educational integrity and adherence to the College's high standards.
  • Develop curriculum as assigned and maintain current knowledge in the field of expertise.
  • Engage in meaningful participation in College committees and community service opportunities as assigned.
  • Teach at various campuses and outreach sites, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Utilize alternative delivery methods, including online platforms, to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with external agencies as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted EMT Basic, EMT Advanced, or EMT Paramedic Certification.
  • A minimum of two years of EMS experience.
  • BLS Instructor CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within one month of hire.
  • Eligibility for a full-time, post-secondary vocational credential in Health Occupations issued by Aims Community College CTE Office.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment post-offer urine analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a community college teaching environment and curriculum development.
  • Five or more years of patient-oriented EMS experience.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, D2L).
  • Evidence of prior teaching or training in health occupation-related areas.
