Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our Retail Team at The Salvation Army Redondo Beach Thrift Store. As a Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the store, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the success of our program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store, including supervising employees, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development to store employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Ensure that customer needs are met by maintaining good customer relations, resolving complaints, and providing quick and efficient service.
  • Assist with the processing of paperwork, including time and attendance compliance, and ensure that the store is maintained and adequate inventory levels are on hand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager, District Sales Manager, or Command Retail Directors.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum one year of previous retail experience, with a focus on customer service and sales.
  • Ability to accurately handle POS/cash register operations and cash transactions.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
  • Pass a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
  • Ability to operate a telephone and understand using a scale to price goods at checkout.
  • Ability to move product up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
