Job Overview

The Custodial Operations Supervisor is tasked with ensuring exceptional cleanliness standards throughout the facility, performing quality assessments of designated areas, and identifying opportunities for enhancing cleanliness protocols. This role involves mentoring, guiding, and enforcing operational policies for the Custodial Maintenance Team. The supervisor is also responsible for fostering guest engagement and assisting in the daily scheduling of team members.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct all operations in accordance with the core values and integrity of GGP Parks.
  • Manage daily custodial tasks, delegate responsibilities, prioritize activities while upholding safety and cleanliness standards, and follow up to ensure task completion.
  • Guide and develop team members to prepare them for daily responsibilities.
  • Effectively organize and lead team meetings.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and guests.
  • Ensure accountability for guest service, adherence to departmental policies, and procedures.
  • Address and resolve conflicts promptly, reporting issues to management as necessary.
  • Assist in inventory management and expense control.
  • Continuously enhance operational efficiency through meticulous attention to detail and compliance with all operational standards.
  • Train staff on the proper use of custodial tools and materials; maintain equipment in optimal condition and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to support the Facilities Team's objectives.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including pathways, waste disposal, and event cleanup.
  • Submit maintenance requests for necessary repairs.
  • Support the annual competency assessments for team members.
  • Encourage and promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Open and close the facility according to established protocols.
  • Assist with custodial tasks and setup for events as required.
  • Accurately complete daily documentation, including notes and reports on maintenance issues.
  • Lead the Custodial Team's daily activities, ensuring thorough cleaning of all areas.
  • Implement and monitor safety programs to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance of custodial equipment, communicating repair or replacement needs.
  • Operate various equipment, including pressure washers and park vehicles.
  • Identify and execute effective strategies to complete assigned tasks.
  • Prepare for and respond to biohazard situations in the workplace.
  • Organize personal work tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve operational efficiency based on attendance and operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, exhibit manual dexterity, and lift up to 50 pounds independently, and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Capability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical activities include kneeling, squatting, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
  • May require snow and ice removal from designated areas.
Technical Proficiency
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Flexible schedule availability to meet the demands of a year-round operation.
  • Knowledge of custodial methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience in custodial or janitorial services.
  • Experience with pressure washing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with specialized floor cleaning equipment is advantageous.
