About the Role

The Custodial Operations Manager is a key member of the Gathering Place team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the custodial department. This role requires a high degree of energy and self-motivation, with the ability to adapt quickly to change and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and influence the custodial team through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure guest satisfaction and maximum productivity.
  • Operational Execution: Continuously improve operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to department operating standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist the manager in organizing, planning, and implementing strategy to meet the needs of the business and maximize guest experience.
  • Scheduling and Labor Management: Develop weekly schedules and ensure staffing levels and lead coverage are appropriate to meet the needs of the business.
  • Conflict Resolution: Manage conflicts and resolve complaints about or within the department.
  • Training and Development: Assist in hiring, retention of staff, coaching, discipline, and ensure execution of team member training programs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and provide support with managing labor and operating expenses, and identify opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure areas are meeting quality standards and team members are providing world-class service by routinely walking areas.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety procedures are understood and followed by providing up-to-date safety training to all employees, and ensure daily operating logs are accurately maintained.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in management or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two years leadership experience required, four years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of a 365-day operation.
  • Physical Requirements: Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, stand, sit, lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time, simple grasp and fine hand manipulations tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position. Applicants, regardless of whether they are a medical marijuana licensee, must receive a negative result on a 10-panel, pre-placement drug screening to include THC, prior to beginning work.
