The Facilities Custodial Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Custodial Manager in executing strategic and daily operational plans that ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of various facilities, including offices, restrooms, equipment, and outdoor pathways. This position also involves assisting in the training of new staff on custodial protocols for using manual tools, powered equipment, cleaning agents, and chemicals. Furthermore, the supervisor will implement departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing both team member and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all tasks in accordance with the core values and integrity of Gathering Place.
  • Inspire and motivate the team to achieve guest satisfaction and optimal productivity.
  • Enhance operational performance through meticulous attention to detail and compliance with departmental standards.
  • Support the manager in organizing, planning, and executing strategies.
  • Create weekly work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet business demands and enhance guest experiences.
  • Oversee daily operations of custodial staff, ensuring that cleanliness standards are consistently upheld.
  • Address conflicts and resolve complaints within the department.
  • Assist in the recruitment, retention, coaching, and discipline of staff, ensuring effective training programs are implemented.
  • Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for increased productivity and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing processes or projects and facilitating positive change.
  • Ensure readiness of assigned team members, event locations, and materials.
  • Assist in managing labor and operational costs effectively.
  • Guide and mentor team members while enforcing policies and procedures to maintain compliance with departmental standards.
  • Regularly inspect areas to ensure quality standards are met and that team members deliver exceptional service.
  • Provide up-to-date safety training to all employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate daily operating logs.
  • Ensure custodial services align with the needs of the facility by scheduling work activities and adjusting workloads as necessary.
  • Provide continuity of supervision by assuming responsibilities of other custodial leaders when required.
  • Proactively communicate with Facilities Maintenance leadership to address custodial requirements promptly.
  • Support training and compliance processes in collaboration with other Facilities leadership.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated high energy and self-motivation, with the ability to adapt quickly to change and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in effectively responding to and diffusing guest concerns.

  • Strong adaptability, able to shift priorities efficiently while maintaining effectiveness.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to inspect work areas, prepare reports, and supervise others effectively.
  • Familiarity with Event Management Platforms.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, standing, sitting, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in management or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience required; four or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, to meet operational needs.
