About the Role:

As a key member of our team at Grubb Properties, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our development projects. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our development projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Manage project financials, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
    • Prepare and manage project financial reports, including development and construction management fee invoices
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders
  • Financial Analysis and Planning:
    • Prepare financial analysis and projections for development projects
    • Develop and implement financial plans to ensure project cash flow and profitability
    • Monitor and analyze project financial performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with development projects
    • Develop and implement procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Communicate financial information to project stakeholders, including project managers, lenders, and investors
    • Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial information is accurate and up-to-date
    • Provide financial guidance and support to project teams as needed

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in project accounting or a related field
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with accounting and financial software
  • Key Traits:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
