We are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant who is eager to contribute to our mission. In this position, you will provide essential analytical support for the firm's projects and operational practices. Your responsibilities will include managing contracts, ensuring the financial viability of assigned projects, and offering mentorship to project management and office leadership within the Southeast region.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Project Managers and Studio Directors, to guarantee precise and consistent billing and financial reporting at both project and studio levels.
- Innovate and propose new strategies to enhance financial management processes.
- Review project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans to ensure fee alignment.
- Maintain well-organized project contract documentation and comprehend contract terms related to fee management.
- Assist Project Managers in conducting project start-up due diligence and adhere to best practices throughout project lifecycles.
- Generate accurate invoices for clients according to contract stipulations; coordinate consultant invoices and payments as per contractual agreements.
- Regularly assess project labor and expense charges with project managers for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Forecast actual versus budget spending and analyze projects to provide actionable insights to project and office leadership.
- Monitor studio accounts receivable and support project managers in collection efforts.

Performance Metrics
Monitor, analyze, and report on various metrics at the studio level to ensure robust business practices; become the studio's finance leader.

Training and Development
Provide training to project managers on the financial maintenance of projects.

Your Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 3-5 years of experience in a professional services environment, ideally within an architecture or design firm.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- A proactive self-starter who is also an effective team player.
- Comfortable with technology and continuously seeks to improve results through innovative technologies and processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse personality types.
- Capable of working under pressure while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel; prior experience with Deltek Vision software is preferred.
