You will serve as the Global Flight Operations Manager for our Flight Operations team.

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced pilot to join a vibrant flight operations team that supports the production of fighter aircraft worldwide.

The Global Flight Operations Manager, reporting to the Deputy Chief of Fighter Flight Operations, will oversee all facets of flight operations in support of post-production acceptance flying at various assembly and checkout locations, both domestic and international.


This role is primarily administrative, with the possibility of transitioning to a flying position in the future.

Core Duties:

  • Act as the main Point of Contact (POC) for all flight operations support related to international production, ensuring that acceptance flights are conducted safely in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

Direct and coordinate the activities of all Flight Operations personnel concerning both international and domestic production operations.

Serve as the primary liaison with various internal and external stakeholders (e.g., production operations, flight safety, program leadership, and customer representatives) on matters impacting international or off-site flight operations planning, execution, budget, and personnel needs.
Develop comprehensive plans to support international or domestic production flight operations.

Supervise domestic and international flight operations, including Acceptance Check Flights, Operational Check Flights, Confidence Flights, Delivery Flights, and other assignments as needed.

Provide guidance and coordination with management regarding aircrew support and requirements for all international and domestic flight operations.

Create and manage the Flight Operations Site Supplements and Procedures, ensuring adherence to customer, company, and program standards regarding production flight operations.
Identify, develop, and communicate findings, proposals, and opportunities related to international production acceptance operations.
Organize and oversee all scheduled international production flight operations inspections.
Advise Production Program Management on all aspects of international flight operations.
Train and qualify Detachment Coordinators (DetCo).
Serve as the on-site Supervisor of Flying (SOF) and Operations Duty Officer (ODO).
Act as the on-site Flight Operations Mishap Coordinator.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

Suitable FAA Commercial Pilot's Certificate (Single Engine Land, Instrument Airplane)
1,000 hours of first-pilot time in a tactical aircraft
Must be willing to travel and possess a valid U.S. passport

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with F-35 or F-16 in testing, operations, or training
Familiarity with Lockheed Martin fighter systems.
Experience as a USN or USAF Aviation Safety Officer (ASO)
Current FAA Class I or II medical certificate.
Knowledge of data science methodologies for producing organizational metrics
Proficiency in electronic databases.
Experience leading teams in high-pressure environments

Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is necessary for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Remote Work:

The selected candidate will have a hybrid work schedule, combining remote work with time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Flexible Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin offers various alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility. Options include standard 40-hour work weeks or condensed schedules that allow for extra time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour days, with 3 days off per week.
