Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Global Flight Instructor to support the training and proficiency of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing ground and flight training, conducting flight evaluations, and managing aircrew crew endurance status.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Proficiency: Provide ground and flight training to U.S. Army personnel, ensuring they meet the high standards of Leidos and the U.S. Army.
  • Flight Evaluations: Conduct and document flight evaluations in accordance with the Leidos Global 6000/6500 Program of Instruction and/or US Army Global 6000/6500 Aircrew Training Manual.
  • Crew Endurance Management: Manage and monitor all aircrew crew endurance status to ensure compliance with DCMA 8210.1D, AR 95-20, and 14 CFR Part 91.
  • Syllabus Development: Assist the Senior Flight Instructor with the development, review, and implementation of the Program of Instruction/Syllabus in accordance with U.S. Army TRADOC requirements.
  • Site Interaction: Act as a point of contact for site interaction with the GFR and other resident USG personnel.
  • Contractor's Requesting Official: Act as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO).
  • Aircraft Operations: Operate aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations, program/corporate policies, and procedures.
  • Aircraft Movement Requests: Manage all aircraft movement requests, including coordination of PPRs, Aircraft Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) requests, and ATO compliance.
  • Liaison with US Government Flight Operations Personnel: Liaise with the US Government Flight Operations Personnel and GFR.
  • Flight Operations: Perform flight operations, duties, and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years of age.
  • Passport and Driver's License: Must possess a current passport and a valid state driver's license.
  • FAA Medical Certificate: Must possess a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Leadership Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
  • Aircraft Experience: 1,500 hours PIC total time, 500 hours PIC in a Global 6000/6500 aircraft or similar aircraft type, and able to complete a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions.
  • Certifications: Must hold at least a Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI) and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificate, FCC Radio Telephone Operator License, and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the secret level.
  • CFI/CFII/MEI Certification: Must have CFI / CFII / MEI certification or US military aviation experience and be able to obtain the certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • US Military Aviation Experience: US military aviation experience.
  • BD/6500 Series FAA Type Rating: BD /6500 series) FAA type rating.
  • International Experience: International experience operating in the NAT HLA.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP): Airline Transport Pilot (ATP).
  • PIC Time: 2,000 hours of PIC time.
  • Multiengine Time: 1,500 hours of Multiengine time.
  • Instrument Time: 300 hours of Instrument (actual) time.
  • Rating Held: Rating held for the last three (3) consecutive years.
  • Former U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner: Former U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner.
  • U.S. Army Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner: U.S. Army Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner.
  • Current Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance: Current active DoD secret level security clearance.
