Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Flight Control Systems Engineer to provide consultancy in the development of advanced Flight Control Systems for an innovative Urban Air Taxi project.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Design and Testing: Engaging in the design and testing of a Fly-by-Wire Flight Control System (FCS) that incorporates sophisticated software and hardware within a dynamic development setting.
  2. Systems Architecture Development: Crafting systems architecture, software design, redundancy strategies, and integrating electronic hardware, input sensors, and actuators.
  3. Control Mechanisms Development: Innovating unique control mechanisms for air vehicles, developing autonomous systems, control algorithms, and integrating flight control laws.
  4. Requirements Management: Overseeing requirements management, system specifications, interface management, safety assessments, and conducting verification and validation testing.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience with embedded hardware and software design, including electronic hardware, motor drives, signal conditioning, and sensor integration.
  • Familiarity with data protocols such as RS-422/485 UART, ARINC 429, Ethernet, and SPI.
  • Proficiency in creating system architecture, design diagrams, and interface control documentation.
  • Experience in developing system specifications and managing requirements traceability.
  • Knowledge of avionics systems, inertial systems, electrical power, and electro-mechanical actuation.
  • Hands-on experience with flight control system development and testing in laboratory environments.
  • Experience with aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
Technical Skills

Familiarity with the following development environments is essential:

  • MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink
  • C/C++ programming
  • Bench tools including oscilloscopes and multimeters
  • Version control systems such as Git
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Linux OS, or bare metal programming
Education

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
