This long-term collaborative project involves multiple companies and aims to support various phases of the System Design & Development (SDD) program, including the DT Viability Project and subsequent modernization initiatives.

The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the Instrumentation System Design & Operations Engineer, focusing on local activities and test sites. The engineer will have significant autonomy in determining technical objectives and approaches, guiding the successful execution of major programs, and potentially taking on project leadership responsibilities.

  • Conducting lab checkouts to address instrumentation data acquisition anomalies.
  • Ensuring a test-ready instrumentation system for daily flight operations.

The engineer will collaborate with flight test engineers and other disciplines involved in scheduling, testing, and troubleshooting during aircraft flight tests.

Additionally, the role involves independent work across engineering, maintenance, and logistics teams, effectively communicating instrumentation issues and status updates.

Responsibilities may also include supporting initial installations and functional operations on production and flight lines as test aircraft progress through manufacturing and flight sequences.

Collaboration with the FTI fabrication shop is essential to ensure that all necessary hardware is identified, ordered, and delivery timelines are established.

Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified materials.

Basic Qualifications
