About the Role

Ascend Charter Schools is seeking a highly skilled Grants and Compliance Manager to join our Finance team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the grants process for our entire network, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and managing grant budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Management: Develop and implement effective grant management processes, ensuring timely and accurate grant submissions, and maintaining compliance with guidelines and policies.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all grants are managed in accordance with statutory guidelines and permissible use of funds, and maintain government receivables and seek reimbursement on open items.
  • Grant Budgeting: Develop and manage grant budgets, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and tracking, managing, and analyzing grant revenue and expenditures.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Manage all reporting and compliance aspects of federal, state, and local grants, and create a comprehensive guidebook to grants, detailing application procedures and strategies, policies regarding use of funds, and ongoing compliance updates.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Finance team and other departments to ensure effective grant management and compliance, and assist with public financial reporting requirements and cross-functional project collaboration.
Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in grants management
  • Highly effective project management skills

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000, reflective of a position based in New York City.
