Job Summary

The Grants Manager at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering supports faculty in pre- and post-award administration of sponsored projects and programs. This role reports to the Senior Director of Research Administration and collaborates with members of Tandon's Office of Sponsored Programs, Finance, academic and research units, and NYU's Offices of Sponsored Programs and Sponsored Programs Administration to set up, administer, and report on grants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial and non-financial pre- and post-award grants management, fiscal compliance, monitoring, and reporting for federal, state, city, county, foundation, and not-for-profit grants, contracts, subcontracts, and other related sponsored agreements.
  • Review and analysis of all Tandon sponsored project awards established in CAYUSE by the Office of Sponsored Programs and creation of Tandon awards in CAYUSE under the direction of the Office of Sponsored Programs.
  • Direct pre-award research administration support to Tandon researchers as they develop and submit proposals to external sponsors to support their research.
  • Assistance with proposal development, including identifying funding opportunities, reviewing program announcements, preparing checklists, working with faculty on budget development, budget justifications, and technical aspects of proposal submission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing sponsored research proposals, including budget development, writing, and submission management, supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with federal and non-federal sponsored research guidelines, policies, practices, funding sources, websites, and organizations is essential.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to grant and contract activity, as well as University processes, systems, and offices involved in grant and contract submission and management.
  • Understanding of best practices in sponsored research is important for facilitating successful pre- and post-award research administration.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $88,000.00 to USD $108,000.00. New York University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
