Role Overview

We are in search of a seasoned Corporate Accounting Manager to spearhead our dynamic Accounting team. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities within General Ledger accounting, including accruals, operating expenses, and prepaid accounts. We are looking for motivated individuals who excel in a fast-paced setting and can juggle multiple priorities effectively, embodying both teamwork and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end closing procedures for prepaid and accrual accounts related to major operating expenses, ensuring accuracy in journal entries prepared by team members.
  • Manage the account reconciliation process, including the review and approval of reconciliations.
  • Analyze and explain the monthly and quarterly fluctuations in the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, identifying the business drivers behind financial statement changes.
  • Assist with SOX compliance and respond to external auditors' requests.
  • Lead initiatives for process enhancements and drive their implementation across the accounting department.
  • Facilitate system transformation projects aimed at improving the efficiency of the month-end closing process.
  • Exhibit strong leadership capabilities, high energy, initiative, and creativity, while leading significant projects and developing team members.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance overall skills, supporting the company's growth.
  • Review workpapers of direct reports to ensure support for the month-end close and reporting periods.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of documentation produced by the team.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of cumulative experience in public accounting and within a public company; at least 2 years in public accounting, preferably with a Big 4 firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in establishing and standardizing SOX-compliant policies, processes, and controls.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with system implementations is a plus.
  • Proven track record in process improvement.
  • Proficiency in technical accounting matters and significant experience in general accounting operations under US GAAP.
  • Experience in team development and mentoring.
  • Familiarity with Oracle is advantageous.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems to enhance the efficiency of the accounting close process.
