Chief Operating Officer Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will manage all operational activities and programs, ensuring effective integration and maximizing organizational impact. As a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, the COO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and play a crucial role in shaping and advancing the strategic vision and growth of the organization. The COO will work closely with the CEO and the Executive Team to develop and implement long-term strategic objectives. They will be accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of services, driving the organization's mission to improve mental health and well-being for the communities and clients served.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive supervision, leadership, and direction to all programs.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for growth, innovation, and enhancement in service delivery.
  • Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies to ensure organizational relevance and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to spearhead the strategic expansion of programs, pinpointing growth opportunities that align with changing client needs.
  • Leverage data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback to guide program improvements and innovations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, encouraging innovative thinking to advance strategies.
  • Oversee program operations, including strategic planning, budget management, and quality assurance.
  • Establish best practices among programs that effectively address clients' needs.
  • Analyze data and communicate opportunities and challenges in a clear and transparent manner.
  • Build networks and partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and funding bodies.
  • Develop relationships to enhance the organization's brand visibility and support financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven leader with a focus on integration and innovation in behavioral healthcare.
  • Leadership approach centered on building trust and accountability.
  • Exceptional communication skills to inspire enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Experience in utilizing data to support clients through an integrated approach.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of executive management experience in the behavioral health sector is essential.
