Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Care Specialists are responsible for overseeing the Childcare section within the Fitness Center, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children while their guardians utilize the facilities. It is our priority to provide peace of mind to our members by safeguarding their most cherished ones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engaging actively with children in the Childcare area, ensuring a dynamic and interactive atmosphere.
  • Maintaining constant supervision of children, never leaving them unattended.
  • Strictly enforcing the established Childcare Guidelines without exceptions.
  • Welcoming members and introducing yourself when necessary.
  • Managing the check-in and check-out processes, ensuring that children are only released to their authorized guardians.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to both members and their children.
  • Upholding cleanliness and safety standards in the Childcare area through routine cleaning and maintenance tasks as directed by the Childcare Supervisor.
  • Assisting in the promotion of various programs, particularly those aimed at children.
  • Completing cleaning duties as outlined in the Children's Programs Handbook.
  • Participating in mandatory meetings and training sessions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Current or in-progress Child/Infant CPR certification (must obtain certification within 60 days of employment).
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Ability to navigate the Childcare area effectively to interact with children and maintain a safe environment.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Patience and creativity in engaging with children, along with a high tolerance for various childhood behaviors.
  • Physical endurance to manage groups of energetic young children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to perform well under pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor with both children and parents.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Genuine interest in the fitness and wellness industry.
  • No prior criminal history.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

In this role, team members will frequently be required to stand or walk for extended periods, and may occasionally need to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Exposure to cleaning agents and airborne particles may occur, and appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided as necessary. Team members should be prepared for a variety of physical activities, including reaching, pushing, and bending.
