Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Care Specialists are stationed in the Childcare section of the Fitness Center, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children while their parents utilize the facilities. Our members trust us with their most precious assets, their children, and it is our responsibility to prioritize their safety and comfort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engaging actively with children in the Childcare area, ensuring they are entertained and supervised at all times.
  • Maintaining constant supervision of children, never leaving them unattended.
  • Strictly enforcing the established Childcare Guidelines without exceptions.
  • Welcoming members and introducing yourself as necessary.
  • Managing check-in and check-out processes diligently, ensuring that children are only released to their respective guardians.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to both members and their children.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe Childcare environment through regular cleaning and maintenance tasks as directed by the Childcare Supervisor or Children's Activity Director.
  • Assisting in promoting various programs, particularly those aimed at children, to parents.
  • Carrying out cleaning duties as specified in the Children's Programs Handbook and Childcare Cleaning Checklist.
  • Participating in mandatory meetings and training sessions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must possess or be in the process of obtaining Child/Infant CPR certification (certification required within 60 days of hire).
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Ability to move around the Childcare area to interact with children and maintain a safe environment.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated patience and creativity when working with children, along with a high tolerance for various childhood behaviors.
  • Physical stamina to manage groups of energetic young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive demeanor in all interactions with members and children.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Genuine interest in the fitness, health, and wellness industry.
  • No prior criminal convictions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

In this role, team members will frequently be required to walk and stand for extended periods, and may occasionally need to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Exposure to cleaning agents and airborne particles may occur, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary. Team members should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that includes various physical activities.
