Position Overview

About the Team
The Business Consulting Services division offers extensive internal and performance audit solutions to clients across the Western United States. Our team is focused on implementing effective strategies through policy development, organizational redesign, process enhancement, and training initiatives. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships and delivering high-value outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead project initiation and planning phases, establishing compliance monitoring frameworks.
- Oversee subrecipient performance and ensure accurate reporting.
- Conduct compliance assessments, evaluate financial submissions, and formulate actionable recommendations.
- Execute internal control evaluations, internal audits, and operational assessments.
- Engage in consulting activities, including stakeholder interviews, document analysis, and preparation of client deliverables such as findings and reports.
- Collaborate with clients to assess current practices, identify improvement opportunities, and develop updated policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline is preferred; advanced degrees such as a Master's in Accounting, MBA, or MPA are advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally with governmental or not-for-profit organizations; professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CGMA, or CFE are preferred.
- Experience in grant management and internal control audits is essential.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), the Yellow Book, and standards from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is preferred.
- Understanding of financial and operational dynamics within not-for-profits and local governments is desired.
- Strong report writing skills, with the ability to articulate findings and recommendations effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving, with a knack for identifying innovative solutions.
- Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).
- Willingness to travel as necessary, approximately 20-30%.
