Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Food Safety Auditor, your primary role will involve executing audits on agricultural operations and processing facilities in line with established audit protocols and QIMA WQS standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating effective audit strategies to ensure timely completion of assigned inspections and audits.
- Performing food safety inspections and audits in accordance with QIMA WQS and scheme owner guidelines.
- Preparing detailed reports of inspections and audits within set deadlines.
- Analyzing and summarizing findings from inspections and audits.
- Communicating results and findings to client representatives.
- Participating in training sessions to maintain auditing qualifications and keeping training records updated.
- Staying informed about relevant regulations and standards.
This position is contractual. Preferred candidates should be located in the Pacific Northwest region.
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Degree in an agricultural or food-related field with at least two years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience post-education, totaling three years in the agricultural sector.
- If the degree is not agriculture-related, a minimum of four years of practical experience in a farm setting or in a technical production management role associated with fresh produce.
Preferred Qualifications (training can be provided by QIMA WQS)
- Completion of a 16-hour or two-day HACCP course based on Codex Alimentarius.
- Lead Auditor Course lasting one week (40 hours) or equivalent (ISO 9001 or similar).
- Food Hygiene Training (minimum 8 hours) covering site management, water, fertilizer, equipment, facilities, personal hygiene, and practical case studies.
- Knowledge in Integrated Pest Management, Plant Protection, Fertilizer, and Soil Management (can be part of graduation).
- Experience with GFSI recognized schemes such as PrimusGFS and GLOBALG.A.P. is advantageous.
Willingness to travel for audit purposes is essential.
