Pharmacy Operations Manager

Sibley Memorial Hospital has a rich history of serving the community since 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, we offer a wide range of medical services, including emergency care, surgical services, and skilled nursing care. Our campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence, and a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Pharmacy department operations, including scheduling, personnel management, procurement of medications, sterile and non-sterile compounding, day-to-day operations, and coordination of pharmacy workflow and integration of pharmacy technology to support best practices.
- Participate in quality-assurance activities, represent the department on hospital-wide and unit-specific committees, and serve as a resource for other pharmacists and healthcare practitioners.
- Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Operations Manager counterpart, Clinical Pharmacy Manager, and Informatics Pharmacist to develop, implement, and operate departmental projects and services.
- Work closely with internal and external customers and internal resources to develop, establish, provide, and monitor pharmacy services for direct patient care.
- Oversee and manage sterile compounding processes and hazardous drug program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (TJC, CMS, USP 797 and 800).
- Manage the staffing, recruitment, discipline, training, and development of direct reports to support pharmacy operations and employee growth.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
- Advanced training to obtain skills consistent with an MS, MBA, MPH, or equivalent managerial experience is required.
- At least two years of hospital pharmacy practice experience is required.
- At least two years of pharmacy supervisory experience preferred.
