Key Responsibilities- Assume direct responsibility for the management and operation of the distributive functions of the Central Pharmacy Service.
- Participate in the development or revision of Pharmacy policy and procedures.
- Monitor and enforce standard operating policies and procedures in respect to drug storage, inventory, preparation, admixture, distribution, security, transportation, and wastage for routine, IV, controlled, cytotoxic, and investigational drugs.
- Assist with the inventory, re-ordering, and maintenance of the Central Pharmacy stock.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and review work activities for the area.
- Perform personnel management functions for the designated area, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, evaluating, and terminating employees as delegated by or with the Department Head's approval.
- Plan, provide, and evaluate orientation, training, continuing education programs, or other opportunities for learning as delegated for the department and other hospital staff.
- Participate in monitoring and controlling assigned operational and capital budgets within administrative guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy required.
- On-the-Job Training or a hospital pharmacy residency program or equivalent experience required.
- 1-2 years experience as a hospital pharmacist in a progressive clinical environment required.
- Some supervisory experience required.
- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist Current DC license as a Pharmacist required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and related sciences.
- Knowledge of chemical, biological, and comparative therapeutic properties of a wide range of drugs.
- Knowledge of management and Federal/Local laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills; ability to provide direction to others; ability to work under stress.
- Ability to perform computerized procedures.
This position has a hiring range of $139,276 - $263,744.
