Position Overview
The ACLU of Wyoming is in search of a seasoned, strategic, and visionary full-time Chief Executive Officer to spearhead its initiatives within the ACLU's National Chapter office.

About the ACLU
The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation (ACLU), established in 1920, is a prominent, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to upholding the principles of liberty and equality as enshrined in the Constitution. The ACLU of Wyoming and Dakotas Chapter operates as a project of the National ACLU.

Compensation
The ACLU is committed to equity, transparency, and clarity in compensation. The annual salary for this role is $165,723 (Level C2), reflecting the compensation structure for this position. This role includes a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
The Chief Executive Officer will navigate various interests of diverse stakeholder groups while being grounded in a profound understanding of the region's history, culture, and political landscape. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Leadership and Vision
The CEO will:

  • Guide the organization’s staff towards a unified vision and strategic goals that align with the ACLU's mission.

  • Serve as the primary communicator and spokesperson for the organization.
  • Enhance the ACLU's reputation through strategic relationship-building.

Program Management
The CEO will:

  • Collaborate with staff to set and prioritize organizational goals.
  • Ensure accountability and transparency in program execution.
  • Foster strong relationships with national program staff.

Financial Oversight
The CEO will:

  • Lead long-term financial planning and risk management.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities.
  • Produce financial reports and budgets as required.

External Relations
The CEO will:

  • Articulate the organization’s positions to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain strong media relationships.
  • Initiate collaborations with organizations aligned with ACLU's mission.
