Educational Support Specialist

Reports to: Principal
Summary:
The Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the instructional process and supporting the educational mission of the district. This position is designed to assist in various classroom activities, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate whole group, small group, or individual instructional activities aligned with program specifications.
2. Support daily classroom routines and assist in the supervision of students.
3. Collaborate with the supervising teacher to follow established guidelines and provide necessary assistance.
4. Aid in student evaluations, including grading assignments and collecting progress data.
5. Maintain accurate records and assist in preparing instructional materials.
6. Ensure classroom cleanliness and organization.
7. Support students in their daily activities and school events.
8. Assist in managing classroom supplies and equipment inventory.
9. Participate in school-wide supervision and contribute to a positive school culture.
10. Engage in professional development opportunities.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Educational qualifications must align with federal, state, and local regulations.
Certification:
Must possess certification as mandated by the Professional Standards Commission.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and comprehend technical information, instructions, and correspondence. Proficient in writing reports and effectively presenting information in both individual and small group settings.
Mathematical Skills:
Competence in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to analyze data relevant to the position.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to facilitate problem-solving processes and develop viable solutions based on provided information.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant technologies.
Interpersonal Skills:
Must interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, and students, demonstrating a cooperative and service-oriented attitude.
Professional Conduct:
Must serve as a positive role model for students, adhering to established standards of dress and grooming.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular walking, standing, and lifting, with the ability to exert or lift up to 50-75 pounds. Occasional crouching or kneeling may be necessary.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter various environmental conditions, including outdoor elements and moderate noise levels.
