First Resources Corp. is a prominent provider of Home and Community-Based services in Southeast, IA. Established in 1987 as a not-for-profit organization, we are dedicated to serving individuals with diverse abilities. Over the years, we have broadened our offerings to include a variety of human services programs. Our commitment lies in supporting vulnerable populations and collaborating with clients and their families to improve their quality of life.
Position Type: Part-time, 20-25 hours per week.
Position Summary:
The Support Specialist is responsible for implementing the Person Centered Service Plan (PCSP), accurately documenting program outcomes, and maintaining open communication with supervisors regarding client progress and any concerns. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as is the ability to adapt to changing needs. This role carries significant accountability, and timely communication with team members is vital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily activities, including grocery shopping, running errands, and engaging in community events.
- Support multiple individuals daily in achieving their goals related to cooking, cleaning, community integration, and developing coping skills.
- Accompany clients to appointments as required.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure success in this role. No prior experience is necessary. A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance are mandatory.
