Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Trauma Intensive Care Registered Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments upon admission.
  • Developing and updating individualized care plans based on patient responses.
  • Documenting nursing interventions and patient outcomes accurately.
  • Providing educational resources to patients and their families regarding care and treatment.
  • Administering medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Managing IV fluids and medications effectively.
  • Ensuring all physician orders are executed and documented properly.
  • Communicating any changes in patient status to the Charge Nurse or physician.
  • Delivering comprehensive care for critically ill patients, including those with invasive monitoring devices.
  • Supporting unstable cardiac patients and those recovering from surgery.
Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care environment.
  • Preferred 1 year of experience in Critical Care or Trauma Nursing.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or Compact License (Texas license required within 90 days of hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.
  • Completion of Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
