Position Summary and Qualifications
As a NICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing individualized care plans for infants.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
- Attending deliveries and performing stabilization and admission assessments for newborns.
- Revising care plans based on patient responses and regularly evaluating their effectiveness.
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies.
- Supporting transport teams in the stabilization of infants and facilitating transfers.
- Educating families on homecare, treatments, and available support resources.
- Assisting in high-risk deliveries and providing necessary support during resuscitation efforts.
- Delegating tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in line with professional standards.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
- Educational background: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) and S.T.A.B.L.E. Neonatal Education Program Certification are preferred.
