We are in search of a skilled NICU Nurse to become part of our dedicated team. This position is a full-time night shift role.


$15,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR ELIGIBLE, EXPERIENCED NURSES
Position Overview
Our labor and delivery team is equipped with specialized expertise in supporting childbirth and caring for newborns.

The Women's Services unit features 6 labor rooms, 2 antepartum rooms, 18 postpartum rooms, 3 triage beds, and 8 NICU bassinets.

Additionally, we have a certified lactation consultant available to provide assistance as needed.
Responsibilities

Based on nursing evaluations, collaborates to formulate, adjust, and prioritize patient care plans as necessary.
Identifies and reports changes in the patient's clinical status.

Recognizes actual and potential health issues and their implications based on observed data and signs.
Understands the significance of abnormal diagnostic results and follows through with necessary actions (lab tests, NST, OCT, ultrasound, x-rays/scans, vital signs).
Skilled in Gestational/Age Maturity Rating Scale, Neonatal Abstinence Scoring, feeding techniques, Glucose Protocol, bathing and daily care, oxygen setup, discharge education, circumcision care, and PKU.
Quickly identifies and interprets subtle and early indicators of crisis situations and intervenes appropriately (e.g., recognizing patient changes when imminent delivery is approaching and preparing for delivery).
Proficient with nursery-specific equipment, including radiant warmers, incubators, Bili lights, bili blankets, Spacelabs, Dinemapp vital signs machines, scales, and pulse oximeters.
Demonstrates competence in managing emergency nursing across various body systems within age-specific criteria.
Responds to additional unit needs during emergencies and coordinates neonatal transport.
Documents findings and communicates all relevant information to interdisciplinary team members as necessary.
Provides education to patients, families, and significant others, incorporating age-specific criteria and assessing readiness to learn.
Performs Point of Care procedures promptly according to established policies and procedures.

Documents required information and adheres to all Point of Care quality control standards.
Delegates tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with job descriptions, licensing requirements, and standards of practice.
Participates in the development of other staff and mentoring students.
Demonstrates willingness to cross-train and assist in other areas of the hospital, accepting assignments within competency levels as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in Texas or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience is required.
