Job Summary

The Vice President of Resource Development will serve as the lead fundraising officer, responsible for raising $5 million in annual operating support, $15M in capital support, and growing the overall donor portfolio for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional leadership and management coordination for individual and institutional fundraising efforts
  • Develop and implement a multi-year comprehensive campaign to fund key initiatives and general operations
  • Set campaign and annual fundraising goals in collaboration with the CEO
  • Develop and execute plans to increase support from all philanthropic sources
  • Provide regular reports on financials, fundraising activities, and benchmarking metrics to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board
  • Obtain adequate financial support and resources to meet operating and capital needs
  • Manage a personal portfolio of donors and prospects with high levels of capacity and inclination
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors of all levels
  • Assist the CEO and Board in recruiting and developing effective Board Members
  • Lead and staff key board committees as assigned
  • Manage all processes, tools, and communication for successful board engagement, recruitment, and assessment
Requirements
  • Four-year college degree from an accredited college; Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in executive management, development, and operation of a Boys & Girls Club (or similar organization)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control expenses
  • Demonstrated ability to close million-dollar gifts
  • Full, in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading donor database use
  • A minimum of 3 years working with SharePoint
  • Full, in-depth knowledge of digital marketing tools like Constant Contact, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional storytelling ability, with superb writing skills and proven success in narrating the history, legacy, and influence of an organization
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics
  • Experience working with boards of directors
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities
  • Vertically and horizontally nimble, with the ability to drive strategy and implementation of ideas
Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of the position. Requires ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, squat, pull/push, grasp up to 4-8 hours per day.

Salary Description

$130,000-$175,000
