Position Overview

The Greater Austin Performing Arts Center, Inc. dba Long Center is seeking an experienced professional to oversee ticketing operations as the Director of Ticketing. This pivotal role will focus on managing the comprehensive ticketing processes and fulfillment for the Box Office, ensuring support for various programming and events.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership: Supervise Box Office personnel, guaranteeing that online ticketing, call center, and group sales functions operate with exceptional efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Client Support: Assist both internal teams and external box office clients by developing and maintaining events, monitoring inventory and sales, and addressing special requests such as promotional codes and complimentary tickets.
  • Contract Management: Oversee agreements and partnerships with external cultural organizations through a centralized box office system.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage financial tasks including deposits, refunds, ticketing estimates, settlements, cash/check reconciliation, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Technology Utilization: Ensure effective use, maintenance, training, and support for all ticket office technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with programming and sales teams to draft contracts for events and ensure compliance with all service agreements.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with operations, production, and Front of House teams to ensure seamless execution of ticketed events.
  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure that ticketing practices meet ADA standards across all sales channels.
  • Problem Solving: Innovatively address challenges and monitor issues until resolution.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives and budgeting for the Box Office.
  • Sales Management: Set and achieve sales objectives.
  • Team Engagement: Participate in departmental meetings and undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 7-10 years of experience in ticketing sales and customer service.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a managerial role within an online ticketing environment.
  • Proficiency in Tessitura, with a strong understanding of constituent records, system tables, and advanced ticket order processing.
Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining office responsibilities with remote work flexibility.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position begins at $75,000 annually, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • 9 paid company holidays plus 2 floating holidays.
  • 4 weeks of accrued PTO, increasing to 5 weeks after 4 years of service.
