Job Title: Partnering Technology & Science Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Partnering Technology & Science Lead to join our team at Roche Diagnostics. As a key member of our global team, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and collaboration across functions and geographies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and landscape projects on novel, innovative, IVD and Life Science related technologies and solutions to realize business value for Roche Diagnostics or Group Roche.
  • Collaborate with network leads to support RDS and RIS in new technology acquisition, while providing a trusted independent expert voice to ensure deal quality.
  • Contribute to creating future opportunities by extensive networking with scientific and industry experts within and beyond the diagnostics division, with a true "One Roche" mindset.
  • Administer IVD-related technology and science in partnering squads for company evaluation, due diligence & leveraging external innovation; providing timely, accurate, and clear recommendations.
  • Generate business leads by being proactive in worldwide technology scouting and collaboration with entrepreneurs, investors, and leading experts to further evaluate external development and early innovation programs for IVD Technologies for Molecular Diagnostics, Core Lab, and/or PoC solutions, etc.
  • Guide technology and application landscaping with actionable recommendations to capture emerging local and global trends and future demands in IVD and Life Science technologies to shape business strategy.
  • Provide technology benchmarking and assessments for potential deals.
  • Support research (R&D), engineering, data services, and new product pipeline (Clinical Development and Medical Affairs, Lifecycle Teams).
  • Conduct the communication of landscape readouts to drive the alignment and pursuit of identified high-value opportunities in the organization.
  • Support and contribute to divisional research and technology development strategy for achieving mid-to-long-term, divisional objectives.
  • Contribute to a worldwide research intelligence network for Roche Diagnostics and provide inputs to mid-/long-term IVD solution development strategies and roadmaps.
  • Identify synergies between diagnostics customer areas based on deep technical knowledge and understanding of Diagnostics' business strategy.
  • This may include responsibility for timeline, budget, milestone achievement, and successful review of conclusions as well as presentation to senior management.

Qualifications
  • You have a degree in Life Sciences Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, etc), Engineering or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or work experience.
  • You have 10+ years of IVD or Life Sciences technology & implementation experience, with working knowledge of biochemical sensing.
  • You have deep technical and scientific knowledge in sequencing and/or tissue diagnostics technologies and applications.
  • You have project management experience and R&D management experience in the Life Sciences industry.
Preferred Skills
  • You have working knowledge of biosensor and life sciences technologies, specifically sequencing and/or tissue diagnostics technologies.
  • You have understanding of regulated R&D environment and aspects of product development for Medical Devices or IVD.
  • You have highly knowledgeable in the broad technology fields relevant to Molecular Diagnostics and/or Tissue Diagnostics (Sequencing, PCR, tissue staining, imaging, biosensor, Mass Spectrometry, NMR, etc).
  • You have excellent technical, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills.
  • You have strategic and business-driven mindset.
  • You have strong planning and organizational skills including a track record of managing high-performing cross-functional teams/squads.
  • You have strong communication skills and proven ability to network and work in a complex environment.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pleasanton, CA is $200,770 - $259,820. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
