BD Interventional's Surgery division, based in Rhode Island, excels in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of groundbreaking medical technologies that enhance lives. For over four decades, we have been at the forefront of soft tissue reconstruction, offering a comprehensive array of products for hernia repair, specialized surgical interventions, fixation, and biologic implants. Our BioSurgery segment is also expanding, delivering advanced sealants and hemostatic solutions to support surgical practices across various specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets set by the organization within the assigned territory and budget.
  • Enhance sales within existing accounts while establishing new client relationships.
  • Position yourself as a knowledgeable product expert.
  • Conduct presentations, training sessions, and provide in-service education on the proper use of our products to surgeons, operating room personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Deliver on-site technical assistance during procedures to ensure the effective application of our products.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on product usage and maintain updated product information.
  • Ensure optimal product utilization by all trained surgeons in the territory.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products, distribution channels, and methods.
  • Meet sales and profitability objectives for the designated territory.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Inform clients about new and existing products, order statuses, pricing, and company policy updates.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Participate in customer meetings and industry events, providing detailed reports on attendance and competitor activities.
  • Establish BD products as the preferred choice in competitive bidding scenarios.
  • Complete special projects and additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience is essential, with a preference for medical sales background.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Strong understanding of needs-based sales approaches.
  • Familiarity with product buyer dynamics.
  • Knowledge of contract management principles.
  • Understanding of group purchasing processes, including research and proposal development.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, adhering to BD's safety standards.
  • Ability to meet customer access requirements, including drug screening protocols.
  • Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical procedures sufficient to effectively communicate product benefits.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy.
  • Ability to discuss product applications in relation to medical practices.
  • Familiarity with medical and surgical terminology.

Compensation ranges are designed to ensure fair and competitive rewards for our associates, reflecting their progress from entry-level to expert roles. The salary offered will depend on experience, education, skills, and work location.

Salary Range: $125,992 - $207,888 Base + Incentive
