JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Technician is responsible for delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and executing various tasks essential for the smooth operation of the unit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

· Exhibits the capability to perform, assist, and deliver patient care effectively.

· Manages multiple patient care assignments according to unit acuity and staffing levels.

· Receives reports from primary care partners and completes assignments in an organized and timely manner.

· Instructs and reinforces appropriate patient care activities under the guidance of licensed professionals.

· Responds promptly to patient requests and communicates with the appropriate caregiver when necessary.

· Demonstrates the ability to recognize and implement emergency measures, including CPR, when required.

· Maintains annual competency in patient-specific procedures.

· Accurately documents patient information in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.

· Reports significant patient changes and clinical findings to the primary care partner.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

· A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Must meet one of the following criteria:

o Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current State of Florida licensure.

o RN student who has completed nursing fundamentals or a caring scholar course and is actively enrolled in an RN Nursing program, providing transcripts each semester.

o Graduate of an RN program awaiting authorization to test for the NCLEX or has not passed their first NCLEX and is awaiting a second attempt.

o Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with valid Florida licensure and relevant work experience.

· Basic computer skills are required, including the ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, and input data.
