JOB SUMMARY

As a Nursing Student Clinical Technician, you will be responsible for delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your role will involve various essential tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the unit in a leading healthcare facility. Key responsibilities include assisting with patient care, managing multiple patient assignments according to unit needs, and maintaining timely communication with the primary care team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct assistance in patient care activities.
  • Effectively manage multiple patient assignments based on the unit's acuity and staffing levels.
  • Receive and act on reports from primary care partners, ensuring organized and timely completion of tasks.
  • Support and reinforce patient care activities as directed by licensed professionals.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and relay information to the appropriate caregivers as needed.
  • Recognize and execute emergency procedures, including CPR, when necessary.
  • Maintain annual competency in patient-specific procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record system.
  • Communicate significant patient changes and clinical observations to the primary care partner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization is mandatory.
  • One of the following qualifications must be met:
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with valid Florida licensure.
    • RN student who has completed nursing fundamentals or a caring scholar course and is actively enrolled in an RN program, providing transcripts each semester.
    • Graduate of an RN program awaiting authorization to take the NCLEX exam.
    • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with valid Florida licensure and relevant work experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to operate a PC and manage documents.
