POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Technician plays a vital role in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, while also performing essential tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
· Effectively provides, assists, and reinforces patient care activities.
· Manages multiple patient care assignments based on unit acuity and staffing levels.
· Receives handoff reports from primary care partners and completes tasks in an organized and timely manner.
· Instructs and reinforces appropriate patient care activities under the guidance of licensed professionals.
· Responds promptly to patient requests and communicates with the appropriate caregiver when necessary.
· Recognizes and executes emergency measures, including CPR, when required.
· Maintains annual competency in patient-specific procedures.
· Accurately documents patient information in the electronic medical record in a timely manner.
· Reports significant patient changes and clinical findings to the primary care partner.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High School diploma or GED is required.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
o Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current licensure in the State of Florida.
o RN student who has completed nursing fundamentals or a caring scholar course and is actively enrolled in an RN Nursing program, providing transcripts each semester.
o Graduate of an RN program awaiting authorization to test for the NCLEX or has not passed their first NCLEX and is awaiting a second attempt.
o Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with valid Florida licensure and relevant work experience.
· Basic computer skills are required, including the ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, and input data.
