Position Overview

The Group Leader role is essential in fostering a supportive and engaging environment for participants of all ages. This position is integral to the operations of community-based programs aimed at providing educational and recreational activities.

Reporting Structure:

This role reports directly to the Program Director and Assistant Director.

Work Schedule:

This is a part-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. The program operates during various hours throughout the week, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with extended hours available during school breaks.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is set at $25.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Site Director and Assistant Director to design and implement enriching activities for participants.
  • Assist in the execution of after-school programs, focusing on interactive and multi-sensory learning experiences.
  • Plan and prepare necessary materials for daily activities.
  • Contribute to the development of lesson plans and ensure effective behavior management.
  • Supervise groups of participants during various activities, including classroom sessions and outings.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Support the organization of community events aimed at engaging families and the local community.
  • Ensure the safe pickup of participants by authorized guardians.
  • Oversee and guide Activity Specialists, ensuring adherence to program standards.
  • Review and approve lesson plans submitted by staff.
  • Assist in managing group dynamics and addressing minor behavioral issues.
  • Step in for Activity Specialists as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required; some college education is preferred.
  • A passion for working with children and the ability to pass a background check are essential.
  • Experience or skills in areas such as sports, arts, or crafts is advantageous.
