Job Overview

This role is pivotal in steering the Continuous Improvement strategies within the facility. The individual will provide essential leadership, strategic planning, and technical guidance to ensure the safe production of superior quality products that fulfill customer expectations in a cost-efficient manner. This position serves as the champion for all quality-related initiatives at the plant, collaborating closely with manufacturing, sales, design teams, suppliers, and clients to meet both internal and external quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Quality Management System at the facility.
  • Educate and train staff on continuous improvement methodologies including Six Sigma, Lean, and 5S.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance costs, quality, and service through Continuous Improvement.
  • Monitor vendor performance, address customer complaints, and investigate significant quality issues with both in-process and finished goods.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of customer feedback and complaints through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prioritize safety in training, job design, and compliance with regulations.
  • Guarantee product quality by establishing systems aimed at achieving 'right first time' performance, integrating this philosophy into continuous improvement teams.
  • Address plant-wide issues and foster inter-plant initiatives to identify synergies and business opportunities for optimizing manufacturing processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience across various manufacturing sectors (production, logistics).
  • Familiarity with quality system management or leadership in manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office and statistical analysis software.
  • Prior experience with ISO certification is advantageous.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to accurately read measurements and perform calculations involving percentages, volume, and rates, applying high school level math concepts.

Reasoning Ability:

Capability to address practical problems and navigate diverse variables in situations with limited standardization, interpreting various forms of instructions.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear; frequently required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms; occasionally required to sit. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
