Job Overview


The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for Suppliers is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards for designated suppliers. This role encompasses the implementation of quality strategies and the selection of suppliers through rigorous qualification processes.

This position entails ownership of supplier performance and audit processes, driving enhancements through the use of supplier scorecards to guarantee adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Supplier Quality Assurance and Development**: Engage in comprehensive supplier qualifications, formulate action plans, conduct audits, and monitor performance while guiding key suppliers towards achieving industrial excellence.

2. **Technical Expertise**: Develop a profound understanding of engineering principles and effectively manage vendor relationships. Utilize prior experience and acquired knowledge to execute functional strategies and policies.

3. **Collaboration and Communication**: Serve as an individual contributor with strong interpersonal skills, facilitating communication with colleagues and stakeholders regarding design and coordination services. Provide informal mentorship to new team members and convey complex information in straightforward terms.

4. **Impact and Autonomy**: Influence projects, processes, and procedures within the field. Operate with a degree of independence while focusing on executing activities and providing guidance within established functional practices.

5. **Problem Solving**: Apply technical expertise and analytical thinking to resolve issues, leveraging multiple internal resources to inform decision-making.

Travel Requirements
Approximately 25% travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Quality, or Manufacturing.
- At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Quality, or Manufacturing, or completion of a GE Aerospace Leadership program.

- Proven capacity to analyze and resolve complex issues.
- Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
- Established project management capabilities.

This position requires access to technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and will need to provide proof of status prior to employment.
