Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Service Representative Advanced to join our team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital(WDH). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Check-In and Check-Out Duties
    • Welcoming patients and verifying their demographic and insurance information
    • Scheduling follow-up appointments and generating patient plans
  • Referral, Diagnostic, and Lab Orders Processing
    • Processing referrals, diagnostic, and lab orders, including electronic submissions
    • Ensuring compliance with insurance carriers' pre-certification requirements
  • Administrative Support
    • Providing administrative support to clinical staff and patients
    • Answering phones and responding to emergencies
  • Medical Records Filing and Related Tasks
    • Maintaining file systems and collaborating with clinical staff
    • Scanning medical records and sending them to the patient's electronic health record
  • Improving Patient Satisfaction Scores
    • Understanding and employing the Language of Caring program to support an unparalleled patient experience
    • Working effectively with the team to identify opportunities for improvement and recommending plans of action
Requirements
  • Experience
    • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare or customer service
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for higher education or training in secretarial sciences or business
  • Skills
    • Mastery of Level 1 PSR and a passing grade on the competency test
    • Successful completion of all modules of the Language of Caring program
Work Environment

This is a part-time position working 16 hours per week in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team and provide exceptional patient care and administrative support.
