Position Overview:

The Facilities Operations Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing mechanical and electrical systems utilized in manufacturing, research, and commercial operations. This role involves providing guidance to facility personnel and engineers, ensuring optimal facility and equipment performance, and leading improvement projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Direct and support the planning and execution of facilities and equipment projects.
  • Project Management: Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating contractors for facility modifications and enhancements.
  • Specifications Development: Create and review specifications, bids, and drawings for mechanical, electrical, and construction proposals.
  • Collaboration: Communicate project status and risks across functional teams, presenting recommendations and implementing necessary modifications.
  • Operational Excellence: Foster a productive environment, empowering the team to achieve operational objectives.
  • Cost Optimization: Implement strategies to enhance service levels and manage costs related to utilities and maintenance.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Regulatory Standards: Ensure compliance with FDA Good Manufacturing Practices concerning facilities and utilities.
  • Team Development: Evaluate and enhance the skills of facilities team members, ensuring effective cross-training.
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure manufacturing equipment meets lifecycle expectations and provide troubleshooting support.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering or Technology or a 2-year Technical Degree in relevant fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industries with increasing responsibility.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Project Management experience in GMP industries.

Skills:

  • Strong team-building and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of building automation and data acquisition systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver License.
  • Certified Energy Manager.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM).
  • 2nd class - B or higher boiler license.
  • LEED Accredited Professional.
  • 6 Sigma and LEAN certifications.

Travel Requirements: Approximately 30% travel may be required.
