Position Summary:

The Accounting & Finance Department at RevZilla is composed of driven professionals who are encouraged to leverage their skills and initiatives. Our team is focused on enhancing efficiency and driving change to improve internal systems and processes through collaboration and development. We thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The Staff Accountant will play a vital role within the Accounting team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting. This position is responsible for supporting the accounting team in generating precise and timely financial records for the organization. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently and have a solid understanding of fundamental to intermediate accounting principles. Key attributes include clear communication, meticulous documentation, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Manage activities related to the upkeep of the general ledger, along with financial analysis and reporting, while assisting with the preparation of financial statements.
  • Utilize financial concepts for planning and business analysis to ensure effective controls are in place to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Employ creative problem-solving skills to address complex accounting challenges.
  • Assist with special projects as they arise in the course of business operations.
  • Support various components of our annual audit, including interim testing, year-end evaluations, and managing audit requests.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliation principles, and the interpretation of accounting guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient Excel skills, including complex formulas such as index-match, vlookups, and macros.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to enhance processes.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships across the organization.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or CPA candidate status.
  • Experience with JD Edwards and RetailPro is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, technology, or consumer products industries is preferred but not required.
