Senior Tax Associate Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
Ace American Insurance is seeking a Senior Tax Associate Supervisor to play a pivotal role in the formulation of tax provisions and the preparation of both federal and state tax returns for a significant multinational organization that encompasses both insurance and non-insurance sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the preparation of US GAAP tax provisions in alignment with ASC 740 and ensure compliance with statutory tax obligations.
  • Oversee the timely preparation and review of federal income tax returns for various subsidiaries.
  • Manage the preparation and review of state and local tax returns, including income tax, premium tax, property tax, and sales and use tax.
  • Address inquiries from regulatory bodies and assist with state tax audits as necessary.
  • Calculate and process quarterly/periodic estimated tax payments.
  • Conduct research on tax legislation to validate the appropriateness of tax positions taken on returns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or business management is required; advanced degrees such as MST, JD, or MBA are preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in tax provision is required, with public accounting experience being advantageous.
  • Familiarity with corporate insurance tax matters and experience in state and local income tax return preparation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A strong desire for professional development and technical growth is encouraged.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong business partnership abilities, are essential.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary; experience with tax compliance software such as Corptax is desirable, as well as familiarity with PeopleSoft General Ledger software.
  • Proficient in tax research methodologies.
