Position Overview:

Franciscan Ministries is in search of an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to spearhead the operations of our newly established community. This leadership role is crucial for achieving occupancy and sales targets, overseeing strategic marketing initiatives, managing sales processes, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the community.

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, along with the standards set by Franciscan Advisory Services (FAS). Your leadership will be essential in maintaining a robust financial status for the community while prioritizing quality standards and fostering strong connections with the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Leadership: Attain organizational, financial, and quality objectives. Ensure that service lines and programs are tailored to meet resident needs while delivering effective and economical care.
  • Resident Relations: Build and sustain effective collaborative relationships with residents through the residents' council and its committees.
  • Policy Development: Oversee the formulation and execution of policies and procedures that align with community goals and objectives.
  • Resident Rights: Safeguard residents' rights to fair treatment, self-determination, privacy, property, and civil rights.
  • Public Relations: Develop and maintain a public relations strategy that serves the community's best interests.
  • Healthcare Collaboration: Cultivate working relationships with medical professionals and health-related organizations through formal agreements when necessary.
  • Department Oversight: Engage with department supervisors to address operational challenges and enhance service delivery.
  • Economic Monitoring: Stay informed about economic conditions and implement necessary adjustments to ensure high-quality resident care.
  • Budget Management: Prepare an annual operating budget, analyze resident charges, and recommend timely rate adjustments based on market dynamics.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure that financial records and cost reports are submitted to authorized government entities as required.
  • External Representation: Represent the community in interactions with external agencies, including governmental bodies and third-party payers.
  • Marketing Support: Assist in external marketing efforts to promote the community and expand the potential lead/referral base for various levels of care.
  • Delegation: Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to department heads effectively.
  • Professional Development: Participate in educational workshops, seminars, and meetings to remain updated on healthcare changes and maintain professional credentials.
  • Community Maintenance: Ensure that the community is kept in a clean and safe condition for resident comfort and convenience.
  • Resident and Family Liaison: Establish and maintain effective communication with residents and their families.
  • Leadership Program Participation: Actively engage in the FAS Leadership program and fulfill mandatory educational requirements.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional related tasks as directed by FAS executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant managerial experience in long-term care settings, including Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), and Memory Care (MC); start-up experience is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of employment law, including federal and state regulations.
  • Licensure: Indiana Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
