As one of the largest medical practices in New England, Hartford HealthCare Medical Group operates multiple facilities across Connecticut and Rhode Island. Our team includes a diverse range of professionals, from Medical Assistants to Physician Assistants, working collaboratively to deliver outstanding care. The Division of General Surgery is recognized for its comprehensive surgical services and commitment to quality, utilizing advanced techniques such as minimally invasive surgery.
Role of the Nurse Practitioner
The Nurse Practitioner will operate in an outpatient environment, collaborating with a team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) specializing in General Surgery. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing patient care through initial consultations, follow-up visits, and inpatient care transitions.
- Performing in-office procedures such as excisions, drainages, and complex wound management.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Opportunity to assist in the operating room.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Connecticut.
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Preferred experience in surgical settings, particularly in plastics, general, or colorectal surgery.
