As one of the largest medical practices in New England, Hartford HealthCare Medical Group encompasses a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including Medical Assistants and Physician Assistants. Our Division of General Surgery is recognized for delivering comprehensive surgical care, utilizing advanced techniques such as minimally-invasive procedures.

Role Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner in General Surgery will operate in an outpatient environment, collaborating with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) specializing in surgical care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing patient care through initial consultations, follow-up visits, and transitions of care.
  • Performing in-office procedures such as excisions, drainage, and complex wound management.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare system.
  • Participating in surgical operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Master's program for Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Connecticut.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Preferred experience in surgical settings, including plastics, general, or colorectal surgery.
