Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily functions of the Housekeeping department and provide guidance to the housekeeping personnel.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new team members.
  • Collaborate effectively with Maintenance and Guest Services teams to identify opportunities and share best practices.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of supplies and materials, and request replenishment as necessary.
  • Help manage staff schedules and identify areas requiring additional support.
  • Plan and coordinate training initiatives for staff development.
  • Monitor timekeeping and prepare payroll for housekeeping employees.
  • Maintain room standards by inspecting and coaching housekeeping staff daily, while updating performance records.
  • Conduct regular feedback sessions and performance evaluations to promote continuous improvement and individual success.
  • Assist in creating departmental action plans based on guest and employee feedback.
  • Ensure prompt action on all guest comments and concerns.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and morale, ensuring high levels of motivation and job satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership that inspires and motivates the team to perform at their best every day.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' supervisory experience in a hotel or resort setting is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities are essential.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting, standing, walking, and pushing carts for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds, such as trash and linen bundles.

Working Conditions
Indoor/Outdoor: Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions while performing their duties. The noise level in the workplace is typically moderate.
